Job Overview
The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a dedicated Health Care Aide to join their team in Taber, Alberta. As a Health Care Aide, you will provide essential support and compassionate care to patients, helping them with daily tasks and assisting medical staff in a nursing home or aged care facility. Responsibilities
- Supply and empty bedpans
- Serve meal trays and feed patients
- Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients for comfort and care
- Make beds and maintain cleanliness in patients’ rooms
- Supervise and assist with patients’ exercise routines
- Maintain inventory of supplies and restock as needed
- Assist patients with bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Transport patients between care facilities, or via wheelchair or stretcher as required
- Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing operative areas
- Administer first aid in emergency situations
Requirements
- Languages: English
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
Work Setting: Nursing home or home for the aged
Credentials:
- First Aid Certificate
- CPR Certificate
