Key Responsibilities
- Address customer complaints or concerns professionally.
- Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
- Safely load and unload goods.
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- Oversee vehicle condition and conduct inspections (tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, etc.).
- Perform emergency roadside repairs as needed.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, ensuring all aspects of the vehicle are in top condition.
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure the longevity of the vehicle.
- Relay information to central dispatch and maintain communication.
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo during transport.
Qualifications
Education:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
Experience:
- No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Class 3/3F/DF License (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles).
- Air Brake (Z) Endorsement required.
Documentation Knowledge:
- Accident or incident reports.
- Inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip).
- Maintenance and repair reports.
- Trip reports.
