Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish supportive relationships with service users, sharing personal experiences to inspire and motivate them.
- Work with therapy teams and Lifestyle Support Workers to develop activities that enhance quality of life.
- Promote healthier lifestyles among individuals with severe mental illness and their carers.
- Support the development and delivery of community mental health services.
- Participate in recruitment processes and provide local induction support.
- Share insights from personal experiences with mental health services to aid communication and service improvement.
- Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Collaborate in creating media (photos/videos) for organizational communication.
- Maintain and monitor peer recovery goals within the Trust’s care plans.
- Participate in peer support training and professional network meetings.
Candidate Requirements
- Lived Experience: Personal experience with mental health challenges and willingness to share aspects of your journey in a professional, boundary-conscious manner.
- Education: GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Skills: Strong organizational, prioritization, and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and empower clients in a person-led environment.
- Understanding of a strengths-based approach and the vocational needs of clients.
- Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills and ability to evaluate and review progress.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to various tasks and schedules.
- Driving Requirement: Full driving license, access to a vehicle, and ability to travel independently across Cornwall.
